Jureda Louise SullivanAugust 7, 1939 ~ May 7, 2017 (age 77)
Miss Jureda Louise Sullivan was born August 7, 1939 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to James Virgil and Zula Pate Sullivan. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, May 7, 2017.
Jureda was preceded in death by her parents and by her brother, Jerry Sullivan.
Miss Sullivan was a member of Glen Iris Baptist Church since 1979. There she supervised the nursery for over thirty years, and oversaw special events at the church. Her style, grace and fierce love for all her "babies" was reknown. She reveled in rocking the infants and reading to the children. She was affectionately known by all them as "Reda". Reda loved taking care of the babies of her former babies. "Her children arise up and call her blessed." (Proverbs 31:28) And truly, "she openth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness." (verse 26).
She served as financial secretary at Glen Iris, as well as receptionist at the Alabama Independent Auto Dealers Association. She had previously been employed at Sanitary Rug for many years.
A celebration of her life will be held at her beloved Glen Iris Baptist Church on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until service time. Pastor Chris Lamb will officiate.
"Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellent them all. Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman who fearth the Lord, she shall be praised." (Proverbs 31:29-30).
