Obituary

Patricia Snyder Mathews (“Pat”, “Mom” or “GranPat”), 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 16, 2020. She was a member of Sumiton United Methodist Church, and lived with her family in Dora, Alabama. She dearly loved the Lord, her family, and friends.  

 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney W. Mathews; sons, James Richard (“Ricki”) Runge, and David W. Mathews; parents, George and Vivian Snyder; sister, Jewel (“Chris”) Wascom; and brother, James B. Snider.  

 
Patricia is survived by her children, Vicki Runge Fadlevich, Bunni Runge Miller, and Donna Mathews Jennings (Robert); step-children, Judy Mathews, and Renea Mathews Phillips (Kem); son-in-law, Rick Miller; grandchildren, Justin Fadlevich, Mark Fadlevich, Erica Miller Watson (Drew), Mitchell Jennings, Sidney Kate Jennings, Bryan Phillips (Stephanie), and Nick Phillips (Kelsey); great-grandchildren, Austin Fadlevich, Harrison Phillips, and Tayla Phillips; niece, Jennifer Snider Leathers (Raymond); nephew, Brian Snider (Mimi); and a host of loving in-laws, great nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends. 

 
Due to Covid-19 regulations, a family only graveside service will be held on May 20, 2020 at Crestview Memorial Gardens in Adamsville, Alabama with the Rev. Tom Salter officiating.  A celebration of life will be held at a later time.  

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations may be made to Sumiton United Methodist Church (P. O. Box 55, Sumiton, AL 35148) or Alzheimer’s of Central Alabama (Attn: Adult Day Care Scholarship Program, P. O. Box 2273, Birmingham, AL 35201).
