Richard "Pat" Patrick Evans

Richard Patrick Evans “Pat”, age 77, of Sylvan Springs AL, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2020. He was born in Pratt City, AL on February, 13, 1943. He was married to Mary Evans on June 23, 2008, but they were best friends for 23 years. He served in the US Air Force for four years and during that time was stationed in Alaska. His jobs over the years included IBM, Alabama Power and US Steel. He retired from US Steel in 2010. He enjoyed everything electronics, being on his computer, checking into family history and visiting old cemeteries. And he loved Alabama Football. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Adamsville, AL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Marston and Rosemary Hood Evans; brothers, Jack, and Bruce (Butch) Evans; niece, Jenni Evans; and nephew, Marston Evans. He is survived by his wife Mary Evans; sons, Patrick Evans of Birmingham, and Chris (Katie) Evans of Trussville; stepsons, Andy (Jennifer) Schober, and Adam (Crystal) Schober; grandchildren, Kendrick and Olivia Evans, and Mason, Elli and Noah Schober; brothers, John (Lodema) Evans of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Tom (Marie) Evans of Park Ridge, IL; sisters, Dottie (Paul) Frament of Scotia, NY, and Rosemary (Rob) Fox, of Gainesville, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Due to current health restrictions, private graveside services will be held this week. Father Vernon Huguley will officiate. There will be a Memorial Mass at St. Patrick Catholic Church at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made in memory of Richard "Pat" Evans to St. Patrick Catholic Church 301 Shamrock Trail, Adamsville, AL 35005.
