On Saturday, March 9, 2019, Harold D. Jackson, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away at the age of 81. He was born on February 10, 1938 in Sweeney Hollow, Alabama and only lived 5 miles away from where he grew up in Sayre. He was an athlete and graduate of Corner High School, class of 1956. He went on to serve in the US Army, where he was stationed in Germany and played intramural football.
Mr. Jackson had many life-long friends in the Sayre-Bagley area that became like brothers to him, many of whom he called friends for over 75 years. He frequently could be found reminiscing with them and drinking coffee at Sayre Auto Parts. He had a passion for antique cars and was often found working on them in his backyard.
Mr. Jackson was known for his unique sense of humor, infectious smile and immense pride in providing for his family. He was member of New Temple Baptist Church in Bagley, AL and of the Brooklyn Lodge #704, F&AM Masonic Lodge in Dora, AL.
Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his wife of 29 years, Patricia Long Jackson, and is survived by his wife of 24 years, Ann Jackson; children, Fredrick Jackson (Shawna), Mike Jackson (Misty), Jerry Rouse (Becky), Denise White (Philip) and Diane Pineda (Luis); grandchildren, Brent Rouse, Alaina Pineda (William Wentowski), Nicky Pineda, Jenni Beth Rouse, Gia Pineda, Connor White, Emily Jackson, Trevor Jackson, Bristol Jackson and Kansas Jackson.
A Celebration of Life will be on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at 11:00 am at the chapel of Crestview Memorial Funeral with Bro. J.J. Creel officiating. A time of visitation will be on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Crestview Memorial Gardens.
