William “Eugene” Weems, 90, of Snowtown passed away on April 17, 2018 at his home. Well known by so many, he was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend. He enjoyed a 34 year teaching career culminating in 27 years at West Jefferson High School where he taught biology and science. All of his students loved him for his quick wit and caring heart. Mr. Weems was known by some as a Renaissance man because there was nothing he couldn’t do. He was also known as a “peanut butter man”. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Clinton Weems and Jessie Callan Weems; his wife, Della Frances Justice; daughter, Sandra Weems Jones and son, Marvin Weems. He is survived by two daughters, Janice (Allen) Taylor, Susan (Steve) Buckelew; son-in-law, Verlin Jones; three grandsons, Ben Jones, Ryan (Tiffany) Buckelew, Jared Buckelew ; great grandson Josh; sister-in-laws Hazel Justice Stevinson and Lillian Justice Chandler, numerous nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends. Visitation will be Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 9:30 – 11:00 am at Crestview Memorial Funeral Home. A graveside service will be at 11:00 am at Crestview Memorial Gardens with Reverend Charles Click officiating.
